The Realme 12 Pro will join its Pro+ sibling in having a Sony camera sensor, the brand has revealed. The non-Plus variant will have an IMX882 sensor, while its sibling has already been confirmed to feature an IMX890 earlier this week. The phone is also listed on the company’s website with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset.
The camera sensor is not official yet and Realme 12 Pro will likely be the first phone to have it. However, insiders suggest that it is a rebranded version of the LYT-600, seen in the Oppo Reno11 5G and vivo S18e.
The main camera is expected to be 50 MP and will “revolutionize” the photography experience, according to a post on X. The Realme 12 Pro has been depicted in the Cream Gold version, and we can see from the renders that it will not have a periscope lens; it will have three cameras, deceptively lined up in a square formation with an empty circle.
The 12 Pro will have 20X zoom (which is different from the Pro+’s overhyped 120X), and we expect this to mean we’ll see a 2x telephoto lens with 10x digital zoom. Final details will be released on January 29 at noon IST, when the phones will be announced.
