Apple’s Fitness + subscription service has been around for some time now, but it was only available to users who own an Apple Watch. Today, the company revealed that it will make its service available to all iPhone users starting this fall. It will initially be launched in 21 countries and more will follow.
Along with the good news, Apple will kick off the fourth season of Time to Walk on September 12. Your walks will be accompanied by Regina Hall, Latin Grammy winner Nicky Jam and Emmy Award winning actress Leslie Jordan.
Time to Run, on the other hand, is starting its second season with locations such as Yellowstone National Park, Mexico City and Queenstown in New Zealand. The Artist Spotlight series with workouts will include music by Mary J. Blige, The Rolling Stones and The Weeknd.
Returning to the availability of the service itself, you will need an iPhone to register but you can try out the entire catalog of Fitness + features and workouts using an iPad or even an Apple TV.
Fitness + gets a couple of new features with watchOS 9 and iOS 16. For example, the app will award prizes to personal bests, series, or great milestones. Furthermore, on watchOS 9, the training screen gets additional information along with the coaching of the coach during the training itself. More importantly, even if you don’t have Apple TV, you can stream your workout using iPhone or iPad via AirPlay.
