Knights and Bikes (available on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch) is the story of two girls who live a fantastic adventure on the fictional British island of Penzfurzy. Along the way, they encounter fantastic monsters, find hidden treasures, and truly trick the bicycles they use to travel the island.

Ultimately, this game is a lot like your favorite dessert. It’s a lot of fun and memorable, but you’ll finish it too soon.

Back to the past

One of the most important things about Knights and Bikes is that it’s set in the 1980s. This means that it joins the ranks of Stranger things and other popular media that fueled our collective passion for that beloved decade.

If you squint, you will also notice how much the elements of the story seem like a homage to the classics of the 80s. For example, one protagonist hopes to find enough treasure to save her father’s trailer park, which seems to seriously echo the “kids save their parents’ house” vibe. The Goonies.

While you don’t have to be an 80’s kid to enjoy this game, it might help you appreciate some of these freebies and Easter eggs.
