Xiaomi has been able to keep the 13 Ultra under wraps for the most part, with some modest leaks revealing some basic specs from the last couple of months. For example, we knew the device will have quad cameras on the back this year and keep the 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor for the primary shooter. And now thanks to Xiaomi itself we can know what the other three sensors will be.

In an official Weibo post, the company revealed that in addition to the 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor used by the 12S Ultra, the 13 Ultra will feature three 50MP Sony IMX858 sensors. The poster also outlines some advanced noise reduction features and better HDR capabilities.

We’ve already seen this sensor in action on the Honor Magic5 Pro paired with a .5x telephoto lens. The 13 Ultra, on the other hand, will use the IMX858 for its ultrawide camera (with PDAF, of course), 3x telephoto and 5x telephoto.

So, in short, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will not only have better camera hardware, but also more versatile ones. We can’t wait to see what this combination can do in practice. And luckily we won’t have to wait much longer as the device will be announced on April 18th.
