Samsung quietly announced a new entry-level smartphone today and it is not part of the incredibly successful A series. Instead, it is part of the much more confusing and less well-defined M family. Meet the Galaxy M13.

As the first figure strongly suggests, this is a basic smartphone that should be quite affordable, although we can’t comment on it as Samsung hasn’t actually disclosed a price for it. That said, expect M13 to be offered in Europe at least.

The phone features a 6.6-inch FHD + screen with a V-shaped notch, Exynos 850 chipset at the helm, 4GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB of expandable storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. It has three rear cameras: a 50MP f / 1.8 main, a 5MP f / 2.2 ultrawide, and a 2MP f / 2.4 depth sensor. Selfies are taken care of by an 8MP f / 2.2 snapper.

The Galaxy M13 runs Android 12 under Samsung’s One UI Core 4.1. “Core” means that not all features seen in One UI 4.1 will be present, due to the entry-level hardware. This M13 does not have 5G support, although if we follow recent leaks, a 5G M13 should be launched soon enough. The Galaxy M13 will be offered in Deep Green, Orange Copper and Light Blue. It has dual-SIM functionality and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
