Realme introduced the GT Master and GT Explorer Master smartphones 12 months ago. The devices had a distinctive suitcase design, developed by Naoto Fukusawa and inspired by people’s desire to travel in times of pandemics.
The smartphone duo has been quite popular since its launch, and today Sky Li, CEO of Realme, revealed that 2 million units have been sold worldwide even though the availability of the Explorer was rather limited.
The Realme GT Explorer Master is a device made to appeal to a large audience of users: it has a great camera, a large and bright display, excellent battery life and a high-performance chipset. Combined with the cool looks, it was definitely a steal for € 500 last July. The GT Master is a bit smaller with a less powerful chipset but still had a lot to offer for its € 350 price point.
Realme is already working on a successor and the company has confirmed that the GT2 Explorer Master will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset – a real upgrade in the performance department. We know it will arrive this month with a 5,000mAh battery and expect more spicy details in the coming weeks.
