Nothing has picked MWC Barcelona as the starting point for its Phone (2) teaser campaign, but a new post from a Qualcomm executive on LinkedIn (of all places) has provided a major leak about the phone’s chipset. Alex Katouzian, SVP and GM of Qualcomm for Mobile, Compute and XR units, published a post on the professional networking platform to congratulate Nothing on the upcoming launch of Phone (2) and explicitly named the Snapdragon 8+ Gen chipset 1 which powers the device.

The original post has since been edited to exclude the exact chipset and instead specifies that the Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by a Snapdragon 8-series SoC. Following the well-received midranger Nothing Phone (1), Nothing’s second smartphone should compete in the premium/flagship segment. Carl Pei also confirmed that Phone (2) will arrive in the US later this year.
