The OnePlus 12 is coming soon: depending on which rumors you follow, it will be announced in December or January (though it’s unclear whether there will be just one global announcement or initially a separate one for China, like last year).

If you looked at the OnePlus 11 but felt it was just missing a few features that you think are sorely needed in a phone, here’s some good news. It looks like the OnePlus 12 will eliminate all of its predecessor’s shortcomings, according to a new rumor from the generally very reliable Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

OnePlus 12 to fix OnePlus 11 flaws, new leak claims

Unlike the OnePlus 11, the OnePlus 12 is said to have support for wireless charging, at 50W no less. It also apparently includes USB 3.2 support in its USB-C port and an IR blaster. As previously rumored, it will have a “high-quality periscope” zoom lens, with 3x optical zoom and a 64MP sensor.

These are all things that were missing from the OnePlus 11, and their addition to the OnePlus 12 will apparently make it one of the highest-end devices to ever bear the OnePlus name. That said, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if a price increase accompanies the expanded spec list.

According to previous leaks, the OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, paired with 16GB or 24GB of RAM, at least 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,400mAh battery with support for wired charging from 100W. Expect a 6.82-inch QHD+ screen at 120Hz with 2,600 nits peak brightness, and of course, Android 14 with OxygenOS 14 on top.
