The Oppo A38 appeared last week, and today the device quietly debuted on the company’s website in the United Arab Emirates. Just as expected from the leak, the phone features a 50MP main camera and a base LTE-only chipset despite the UAE having 5G in all major urban areas in the country.

The Oppo A38 has a 6.56-inch LCD with HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 90 Hz. There is also a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera which has a sensor behind it 5 MP. There are two cameras on the back, but only the main one is actually useful. It is 50 MP with f/1.8 aperture and autofocus. The second is a 2MP depth sensor.

The chipset is Mediatek Helio G85 and the phone has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The micro SD slot allows for up to 1TB of additional storage.

Oppo has equipped the A38 with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC charging and basic PD (9V/1.5A). The Oppo AE division has promised that the phone will receive updates for 2.5 years, which is good, given that this is a phone in the most affordable price range.

Other notable features are dual SIM, 3.5mm audio jack, latest Bluetooth 5.3 and all major GNSS standards. The Oppo A38 will come in two Glowing colors: black and gold, but we have no information on pricing or availability.
