After its June preview, Meta Quest 3 is now official, and we have all the details on Meta’s latest mixed reality (MR) headset. The Quest 3 is thinner than its predecessor and features upgraded 2208 x 2064 px displays with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 120Hz experimental mode. You get a 110° horizontal and 96° vertical field of view.
The headphones feature Pancake lenses that offer a 40% thinner optical profile than the Quest 2. The Quest 3 weighs 515 grams, slightly more than the Quest 2 (503 grams). While the Quest 3 can work independently, you can also connect to your PC via the Quest Link cable or wirelessly via Air Link.

You get double the graphics processing power of the Quest 2 thanks to Qualcomm’s all-new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset paired with 8GB DRAM. The Quest 3 also offers dual RGB color cameras and a depth projector which, according to Meta, offers 10x more resolution than the Quest 2 and 2x more improvement than the Quest Pro in passthrough.

The headphones feature built-in 3D spatial audio speakers, customizable headband and Touch Plus controller with TruTouch haptic system. You also get hand tracking with four IR cameras. Meta claims an average battery life of 2.2 hours from the Quest 3. A full charge takes 2.3 hours with the included 18W charger.
The Meta Quest 3 is priced at $500 for the 128GB model and $650 for the 512GB. Pre-orders are now open while open sales will begin on October 10th.
