Honor 80 GT has been confirmed to arrive on December 26 and we are also expecting to see a tablet. Today, the company revealed the name would be the Honor V8 Pro, just as the rumors suggested, and both devices have been shown full size on the company’s Weibo page.
The smartphone was also part of a gaming announcement in China, revealing that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and have a separate display chip for an ultra-sharp refresh rate.
The Honor 80 GT will be only the company’s second model to run on Qualcomm’s chipset, the first being the foldable Magic Vs, introduced earlier this year. Since it will be sold as a gaming powerhouse, it’s also the official device for a Chinese gaming product with 3D animations – that’s how powerful the GT will be.
We can see from the renders that the device will have a flat OLED on the front with a tiny hole for a single selfie camera. According to rumors, Honor is preparing to launch the 80 GT at a highly competitive price point which could make the phone highly desirable among mobile gamers.

Speaking of the tablet, we don’t know much about it. We can see three pogo pins on the back, which means that the tablet will probably support a keyboard cover and the already confirmed stylus. We can also wonder if these accessories will be sold in bundles or if the customer will have to buy them separately.
There are six days left until the official launch, and we expect to hear more from similar teasers. Honor is not big on launching high-end smartphones in the international arena. So far, we only have a vague amount of time for Magic Vs to arrive globally, and we can only hope that the Honor 80 GT arrives outside of China as well.
