The Realme GT5 was presented in August and has been on sale for a few months. In a week it will be joined by the generation’s Pro model and Realme is relying on teasers to drum up hype for the new flagship.

First, let’s take a look at the Realme GT5 Pro teaser video. There’s not much of a family resemblance: the GT5’s large rectangular camera island is gone, replaced by a circular bump containing a trio of cameras. This includes a 50MP periscope equipped with a Sony IMX890 sensor with 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless (the regular GT5 does not have a camera), based on an official teaser.

The circular camera island is constructed of durable stainless steel, it seems, and is set in a vegan leather field. But let’s leave the back and focus on the front as Realme has published a detailed description of the GT5 Pro.

The display is an LTPO 8T panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and “1.5K” resolution (probably the same 1,240 x 2,772 px as the GT5). It has a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits and a global peak brightness of 1,600 nits. To reduce it, both DC dimming and high-frequency PWM dimming at 2,160 Hz are available, which can create 20,000 levels of brightness. The display also has a touch sampling rate of 2,160 Hz.

From an earlier reveal, the display will be curved, but it’s such a gentle curve that it’s barely noticeable when you look at the phone head-on. According to TENAA data, the display will be approximately the same size as the GT5 or 6.78″ (vs. 6.74″) and the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (vs. Gen 2).

One last thing: an error at a Chinese retailer revealed that the base model Realme GT5 Pro will cost CNY 3,500. This converts to $500/€450/₹42,000. Of course, this is without taking into account local taxes and the like. For comparison, the regular GT5 cost CNY 3,000 for the base 12/256GB model. And this will also be the basic configuration of the GT5 Pro, Realme China CMO Xu Qi Chase confirmed it.
