A report from Korean sources cited industry experts familiar with Apple’s and Samsung Display’s plans. According to ETNews, “Samsung Display will supply 80 million panels for all iPhone 14 series models.” The report goes on to say that mass production and delivery of the panels are expected to begin in the third quarter of the year.

There are four iPhone 14 models, two high-end Pro models and two “normal” models. There are two 6.1-inch and two 6.7-inch versions. Samsung Display will provide OLED panels for all of these models. Meanwhile, it has been reported that 38.17 million of these panels will be assigned to both the entry-level iPhone 14 and the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 14 range will use LTPS-TFT based OLED panels and LTPO-TFT based OLED panels. It is not clear which is intended for which models. In another recent report, Apple planned to use BOE OLED panels for the next lineup as well. Apple is reportedly evaluating BOE’s OLED panels for the iPhone 14 range this week.
