The iQOO Neo6, which began its international launch today, has arrived at our office for a complete overhaul. Our unit is available in Dark Nova color, but there is another option: Cyber Rage. It’s also worth mentioning that we’re talking about the global / Indian Neo6 here, which is different from the Neo6 launched in China last month.

Before we proceed further to see what the global Neo6 offers, let’s take a look at its sales package. The smartphone comes in a black-colored box – which is smaller than the more expensive packaging in the iQOO 9 line – and includes a protective case, some documents, a SIM card eject tool, a USB-C cable, a 80W and, surprisingly, a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter.

The global Neo6 is built around a 6.62-inch AMOLED E4 FullHD + 120Hz screen with peak brightness of 1,300 nits. It also has an instant sampling rate of 1,200Hz and 360Hz of touch and comes with HDR10 + certification.

Below the display is a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, which is fast and accurate, but its placement could have been a little higher for easier reach. The panel also has a hole in the center for the 16MP selfie shooter.

The back cover of the iQOO Neo6 features a large camera island that houses an LED flash and three cameras: 64MP primary (with OIS), 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. The polycarbonate back panel of our Dark Nova version sports a glitter pattern and has a non-glossy finish, which makes it somewhat resistant to fingerprint smudges but doesn’t help enough with the grip.

The frames of the iQOO Neo6 are also made of polycarbonate, with the frame on the right side sporting the power button and volume rocker. At the bottom is the USB-C port flanked by the speaker, the slot for the SIM card and primary microphone, and at the top is the IR blaster joined by the secondary microphone.

The iQOO Neo6 has the Snapdragon 870 SoC under the hood with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of storage. The smartphone runs Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box with the April 2022 Android security patch, and iQOO has promised two years of Android and three years of monthly security updates for the smartphone.

Keeping the entire package up and running is a 4,700mAh battery, advertised to go from 1% to 50% in 12 minutes and to 100% in 32 minutes with the supplied 80W power supply.

The rest of the iQOO Neo6’s global highlights include 5G connectivity, IP52 rating, 4D gaming vibration with X-Axis linear motor, stereo speakers, and Hi-Res audio certification.

The smartphone also features a cascade cooling system with a vapor chamber area of 2396mm² and a total liquid cooling area of 36907mm² for efficient heat transfer. The system also uses 5-layer 3D graphite cooling plates to further accelerate heat dissipation and provide lasting performance.

This may all sound familiar to you because the global Neo6 is basically a renamed Neo6 SE launched in China earlier this month without NFC, while the original Neo6, announced in China in April, comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and a different one. triple camera configuration.

We’ll be posting our full review of the iQOO Neo6 in a few weeks, so hang around to find out if it’s worth your money.
