Following the launch of its flagship Dimensity 9300 chipset, MediaTek is now preparing to announce a more affordable SoC with Dimensity 8300. The launch of the next chip is confirmed on Tuesday, November 21 at 3pm Beijing time (7am UTC) and His introduction will be live streamed on Weibo.
Reports from China suggest that the 8300 may adopt a 1+3+4 architecture with ARMv9 cores similar to the Dimensity 9300 but with slightly toned down cores and clock speeds. Rumors state that a Prime Cortex-X3 core clocked at 2.8 GHz works alongside 3 Cortex-A715 performance cores at 2.4 Ghz and 4 Cortex-A510 efficiency cores at 1.6 GHz.
The GPU side is expected to be handled by the Mali G52 MC6 humming at a frequency of 850 MHz. Dimensity 8300 will likely be made on TSMC’s N4P4nm process.
