A couple of months ago, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the Apple AirTag 2 would enter mass production in the fourth quarter of 2024, but Kuo updated his forecast, saying that mass production has been postponed to 2025 without going into more specifics.

Details about the AirTag 2 are scarce, but Kuo says the second-generation AirTag will have better integration with Apple Vision Pro as part of a spatial computing ecosystem. Additionally, the object tracker is expected to come with the U2 chip, among other upgrades, over the first-generation AirTag unveiled in 2021.
