Preparation

1

To prepare the Orange Ciambellone, start by shelling the eggs into a large bowl and start beating them with an electric whisk at low speed. Add the sugar and continue whisking while increasing the speed to maximum. Whip until the mixture is light and fluffy.

2

Continue to whip with the electric mixer, lowering the speed to minimum, and add the oil slowly. Once it is fully incorporated, add the flour and potato starch a little at a time, alternating them with the addition of the orange juice.

3

Finally add the yeast and the grated zest of an orange. Mix all the ingredients well and pour into the previously oiled and floured donut mold. Bake the Ciambellone in a preheated static oven at 180 ° C for 50 minutes, checking the cooking with a wooden stick.

4

Once cooked, take the donut out of the oven, let it cool and then remove it from the mold. Finally, sprinkle it with icing sugar and serve it.

Tips and tricks

  • In this recipe we simply decorated the orange donut with icing sugar, but you could also embellish it with Candied orange peel and mint leaves, or you could also stuff the donut with a tasty one Orange cream. You will conquer everyone with this dessert!
  • Like any self-respecting recipe, the quality of the ingredients is essential for optimal success. Choose, if possible, organic oranges, well ripe and even better if at 0 km. We recommend squeezing the oranges by filtering the juice, rather than buying a ready-made juice. You will thus obtain a genuine juice without preservatives.

  • For a Sunday brunch full of citrus notes, we recommend combining a slice of this orange donut with the cocktail Screwdriver.

storage

Store the Orange Ciambellone at room temperature under a glass bell or covered with cling film. Consume it within 3 days maximum. We do not recommend freezing.
