The Pokémon Go Fest is now officially scheduled for July 2021. Due to continuing concerns about COVID-19, this will be an online event available for players around the world.

The exact dates of the online festival are July 17-18. Developer Niantic has provided very few details on what players can expect, except that the festival is online and around the world.

That said, we are approaching the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. In a recent blog post, Niantic pointed this out and promised that players “won’t want to miss out” on the event.

This year’s event is very likely to look a lot like last year’s festival. This included a global challenge arena and The Feeling of Victory special quest which gave players a chance to capture the elusive Victini.

If you don’t want to wait until July for new Pokémon Go content, you can enjoy a special event tomorrow to celebrate the launch of the Nintendo Switch game New Pokémon Snap on April 30th.

Pokémon GO’s “New Pokemon Snap” Celebration Event begins Thursday April 29th at 10:00 local time and ends Sunday May 2nd at 20:00 local time.
