Music streaming services are everywhere these days and did you know that Google has one too? It’s called YouTube Music and from today it wants to help you discover new music in a very engaging way. So it’s adding a new tab called Champions, which is basically a TikTok-like vertical scrolling stream of, well, music samples.

It aims to take personalized music discovery to the next level by helping you find new songs you’ll love, since discovering new music is still a challenge even if you theoretically always have tens of millions of songs at your fingertips with services like this. But it’s all for nothing if you don’t know what to look for, which is where Samples comes in.

The “continuous feed of short-form video segments” is fueled by “the world’s largest catalog of music videos,” YouTube proudly boasts. The Samples feed promises to “explore the depths and breadth of the YouTube Music library so there’s always something new to listen to.”

Each “engaging clip” offers “a glimpse into the song’s artist, video and vibe”. You can swipe vertically to go to the next one, to the next one and so on. When you like what you hear, it’s easy to quickly add the song in question to your collection, share it with friends, create your next playlist, start a radio station based on it, watch the full video, visit the page of the album and also use the song to create your own YouTube Short.
