The foldable device market could grow steadily as most major smartphone OEMs already have not one, but a couple of foldable phones. However, this is especially true for the Chinese market, while other countries’ choices are mostly limited to Samsung, Motorola, Huawei and, in some cases, Oppo. Unfortunately, that isn’t going to change anytime soon.

According to a reputable Chinese whistleblower IceUniverse, Xioami’s upcoming Mix Fold 3 will not be coming out of China. Like its predecessors, Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable device will again have limited exposure. And while the report doesn’t reveal much about the Mix Fold 3 itself, it does suggest that the phone will be competitive and incorporate the latest technology.

Xiaomi Mix Fold3 will also skip the international release

One rumor suggests we’ll see a UD selfie camera, 50W wireless charging, while an earlier one indicates IP ratings for water and dust protection and a periscope telephoto lens, a rare feature among foldables.

Last year’s Mix Fold 2 proved to be a pretty solid foldable, despite some of its flaws. And this year’s vivo X Fold2 is undoubtedly one of the best foldables out there, giving Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series a run for its money. But just like the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, it’s only available in China. Too bad we can’t have some of the nicer things in western markets.
