The latest version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS now supports hiding your IP address. The feature will hide your IP address from the caller via WhatsApp servers and your location in the real world. WhatsApp is also adding another new privacy feature that allows users to silence unknown callers. This feature will block even more sophisticated cyber attacks on user data.
To enable the new Protect IP Address in Calls feature, you will need to follow the following steps within the WhatsApp app:
- Faucet Settings
- Go to Privacy
- To select Advance
- Faucet Protect IP address in calls
Please note that the process of routing your call through WhatsApp servers will come at a cost in terms of reduced call quality.
