The Galaxy A33 5G is Samsung’s latest entry into the compact mid-range class and is a great little phone. It has a good set of specs, it looks solid, particularly when you consider its price. What lets it down a bit is its retail package – you get a USB cable and a SIM tool.

Fans of reasonably sized phones will appreciate the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G. It has what many consider the Goldilocks display size of 6.4 inches and that results in a practical bezel under 160mm and under 190g.

The phone feels great in the hand and its matte finish offers a premium feel. However, it does nothing to repel the stains.

The display is great. It’s a 6.4-inch 1080p Super AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate. On paper it’s the same as the one in the Galaxy A32, which impressed in our review, reaching 800 nits of brightness.

Compared to the Galaxy A32, the A33 5G packs a much more efficient chipset: the new Exynos 1280, which is a 5nm SoC capable of great performance while consuming little battery. By the way, the endurance should be great – this is the latest Galaxy A-series device to feature a 5,000mAh battery.
