Say hello to the vivo Y100i, a new smartphone with 5G chipset, large storage and 5,000 mAh battery just introduced in China. It’s already up for pre-order, with first sales scheduled for Saturday 2 December.

The device costs CNY 1,599, which is equivalent to $225 or €205 and is a more affordable alternative to the vivo Y100 with a downgrade in the screen department.

The vivo Y100i features a 6.64-inch LCD flat screen with Full HD+ resolution and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the power button on the right side.

The chipset of the vivo Y100i is Dimensity 6020. It is built on 7nm technology and has the two CPU performance cores clocked at 2.2 GHz while the other six efficiency units run at 2.0 GHz. RAM is 12 GB, while storage is 512GB, making the Y100i only the second Y vivo phone with this much file space, after its brother vivo Y100.

The vivo Y100i is available in pink, blue and black. We have no information whether vivo will launch this device outside of China, but anything is possible, given how the Y series often manages to establish itself on the international scene.
