Vivo’s upcoming X Fold +, initially meant to be called the X Fold S, has been in the rumors for a few weeks now and we are clearly getting closer and closer to its release date. We already knew that, compared to the original X Fold, it would have the updated Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, as well as support for 80W fast wired charging, and now some more details about the as yet unannounced device have surfaced thanks to a Post Weibo by vivo brand vice president Jia Jingdong.
Jia revealed the fact that the X Fold + will be available in a new red colourway (the X Fold was only offered in black and blue). We were also told that the new phone would have a 4,730mAh battery, compared to its predecessor’s 4,600mAh. The teaser image above has also been posted, to give you a very light idea of the red X Fold + and what it will look like. Unfortunately, the image quality isn’t as amazing as you can see, but hopefully the official announcement won’t be outdone.
Aside from the SoC, battery capacity, increased wired charging and new color, the vivo X Fold + is expected to be identical to the X Fold, with the same 8.03-inch internal display with 120Hz refresh rate, the same 6.53-inch external display with 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB RAM, 256 / 512GB storage, 50MP main camera with OIS, 2x 12MP zoom snapper, 5x periscope zoom cam 8MP, 48MP ultrawide and 16MP selfie shooter.
