Xiaomi seems to have a new cheap Redmi phone on the way. The Redmi A1, not to be confused with the fairly old Xiaomi Mi A1 (Mi 5x), has just been presented in a couple of large leaks. First, though: Xiaomi has just released an official teaser for the device, along with some high-quality renders showing a couple of nice soft pastel colors for the phone and a textured leather finish for the back.

The teaser page also mentions a 5,000mAh battery. As for the rest of the specs, we need to turn to one of the leaks. The Redmi A1 is said to have a 6.52-inch, 1600 x 720 pixel, 20: 9 HD + display with a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 memory. All this, plus the 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging, dual SIM and microSD slots, 3.5mm jack and FM radio, will be encased in a 164.9mm x 76.75mm x 9 body. 09 mm and 192 g.

The camera setup includes an 8MP, f / 2.0 main snapper with an additional f / 2.2 camera, likely a depth sensor. On the front: a 5 MP, f / 2.2 selfie. Other known features include Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi as well as Android 12.

Last but not least, we also have a live photo of the device. Unfortunately, it shows its front rather than the much more interesting leather back side. There are still no words on prices, but we know from Xiaomi itself that Redmi A1 is the first of the brand new series of Redmi Made In India smartphones and will receive a global launch.
