A January media report said that Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, which is expected to arrive in Q1 2024, would include two models instead of three: the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24+ is said to have been dropped by the Korean conglomerate. However, a new revelation suggests that will not be the case and the S24 range, like the S23 range, will include Vanilla, Plus and Ultra models.

The word comes from SamMobile AND GalaxyClubwho claim that the Galaxy S24 series is codenamed “Muse” by Samsung, and there are three different codenames for the smartphones – Muse 1, Muse 2 and Muse 3 – suggesting that the S24 range will include a Plus version.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is codenamed Muse 3, so the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ could be codenamed Muse 1 and Muse 2, respectively. The sources also reiterated that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a telephoto zoom lens. 5x optical, replacing the 3x telephoto seen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

In April, we heard that Samsung would be ditching the 3x telephoto lens from the S24 Ultra in favor of a single variable folded telephoto lens with 3-10x zoom. We’ll have to wait for more evidence to be sure. And with the unveiling of the S24 Series more than six months away, you can expect to hear more about the lineup in the coming months.
