The Xiaomi 12T Pro has arrived in a Daniel Arsham Edition, the manufacturer announced today. The phone began as a joint project with the New York-based artist who developed the device to be a “sculpture with a purpose outside of it as a functional object”.
The device itself is a 12/256GB version with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and 200MP camera, but the back panel is green, with copper-colored crystals that shine differently under the angle.
Daniel Arsham said that in 20 years the people who will have this phone will use it as a sculptural object, linked to a particular moment in time and taking it beyond its functionality. The concept artist experimented with creating different textures, so the back panel is the result of “his sculptural propositions of natural obsolescence and erosion on a smartphone.”

Xiaomi said the collaboration is built “toward an imagined future of digital dematerialization” and is guided by the company’s core values of innovation, design and manufacturing. This unique phone will cost €899 and only 2,000 units will be produced.
Pre-orders begin on December 5, with the actual sale of the Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition scheduled for December 16 on mi.com, as well as highsnobiety.com. A pop-up store will also appear for two days in Berlin during the launch.
