Oppo has partnered with Spotify to make the music streaming experience on the new ColorOS 13 a little more enjoyable.
One of the biggest improvements is that Always On Display mode can now display a Spotify widget. By default it is a small widget that shows the currently playing track (with album cover). You can double-tap it to bring up the playback controls without waking your phone.

Once your phone is unlocked, you can use the special home screen widgets that match the operating system’s Aquamorphic design. There is also a Spotify tab on the shelf, which offers music recommendations.

You’ll be able to use Spotify as a more pleasant way to wake up – you can set the ColorOS 13 Clock app to start playing specific songs, playlists, or podcasts instead of the standard alarm sound. Note that this will be enabled with an upcoming OTA update (coming after September 15th).

“Our partnership with Spotify represents a new exploration of the possibilities of smartphone operating systems. Through intelligent, affordable and human-centered features developed with our partners, we are offering users a smarter and more efficient operating system, allowing them to spend more time enjoying the music and other most beloved features of OPPO smartphones. ” said Gary Chen, head of OPPO software product.
