Sony will host a new launch event on September 1st where we expect to see the debut of the Xperia 5 IV. The event will run from 4pm Japanese time to 9am CEST and will be live streamed on Sony Xperia’s official YouTube channel.
Sony has teamed up with artist Cat Burns who shot and recorded her latest music video on the “new Xperia” phone, although she didn’t explicitly mention that it’s the Xperia 5 IV. Based on rumors and a more recent FCC certification, the Xperia 5 IV will debut with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a camera setup similar to the outgoing Xperia 5 III with three 12MP sensors. The device is also expected to carry a 6-inch OLED screen and wireless charging.
