Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series began receiving beta versions of Android 13 (One UI 5) in the US early last month. Today, beta builds for One UI 5 based on Android 13 are coming to Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The update was spotted by the Reddit user u / DJStormXZ on the sub-Reddit r / GalaxyS21. According to the OP (original poster), beta builds are only eligible for unlocked models purchased in the US, but another commentator claimed to be able to install the beta update on a T-Mobile device. As a user with a T-Mobile Galaxy S21 Ultra, I was unable to see the update tab in the Samsung Members app.

Samsung Galaxy S21 owners in the UK and Korea were able to download the beta update late last month (India most recently) and the US beta build appears to be a slightly newer build, with the number G991UEU5ZVIA (for the S21). Reddit users speculate that this may be a Beta 2 build of Android 13.

If you are in the US and have a Samsung Galaxy S21 model, you can go to the Samsung Members app and scroll the banner image above until you see one that mentions “One UI Beta Program”. Tap the banner to sign up and pick up the Android 13 beta before public release. Note that it may not be available for a carrier locked Galaxy S21.
