Samsung introduced its 50MP ISOCELL GN5 sensor with the Galaxy S22 and S22+ phones and used a similar 50MP GN3 sensor on this year’s Galaxy S23 and S23+ models. The same 50MP sensor is expected to be reused on the Galaxy S24 and S24+ devices as well, but a new tip suggests that the Galaxy S25 and S25+ phones may ditch the Samsung sensors in favor of Sony ones.

Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ are said to opt for the Sony camera sensor

The new report comes from reliable tipster @Tech_Reve who has a solid track record for Samsung rumors. There are no specific details on the actual camera sensor in question as we are more than a year away from the launch of the S25 series.

Samsung is also said to be working on a new 1-inch, 200MP ISOCELL sensor for its S25 Ultra with 0.8µm pixels, dual-pixel autofocus, and in-sensor zoom. The only other known rumor for the Galaxy S25 series is the Exynos 2500 chipset which is expected to feature a 10-core CPU built on Samsung’s 3nm node.
