After vivo partnered with lens maker Zeiss, they have produced some of the most impressive mobile cameras on the market, and the vivo X90 Pro is one of the best. It’s a shame that the Pro+ model doesn’t make it to the global market, but the X90 Pro is highly competitive with current flagship smartphone cameras.

A large part of our video review is dedicated to the camera: also for good reason, the 50 MP 1-inch main sensor and the 2x 50 MP vertical camera with extra bright aperture are nothing short of exemplary. 12 MP is commendable.

By the way, this is the first time we’ve tested the new Dimensity 9200 and we’re impressed: the chipset leaves the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Dimensity 9000 in the dust. It’s not quite as fast as the 8 Gen 2, but we never felt short on horsepower. Naturally, it got the help of the vivo V2 ISP to produce the excellent camera results.

Vivo also has significantly improved battery life over last year’s X80 Pro, which wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t impressive either. One step down we don’t love is the new display: last year’s model had a QHD+ LTPO panel, this one has a 1,260 x 2,800px panel with 120Hz and 60Hz modes only. Even a longer lens would not have hurt.
