It appears that Samsung has equipped its Galaxy S24 Ultra and Z Fold5 with a secret crash detection feature that could soon be implemented via software update. Developer Mishaal Rahman discovered the system code for the “Car Crash Detect Wakeup” sensor buried inside a hidden OneUI 6.1 system app called MoccaMobile.

Rahman explains that this feature is based on a composite sensor that uses data from different physical sensors such as accelerometer and gyroscope and fuses the data via Android Sensor Hub. It remains to be seen how Samsung intends to implement this feature and whether it will also be present on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models.
