For the 2023 Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, Samsung only used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips in all markets, which was an interesting departure from its usual strategy of dividing the world between its own Exynos chip and Qualcomm’s latest and greatest.

Exynos’ detractors (and there are many) celebrated, but then it seemed that the victory was short-lived. The S24 Ultra is expected to only be Snapdragon compatible, but the S24 and S24+ will split once again, with the Exynos 2400 in the mix in many markets. Well, that may not be the case, if a new rumor is to be believed.

According to a tipster on X, the Galaxy S24+ will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in most countries around the world. Apparently only the ‘vanilla’ S24 will be paired with the Exynos 2400.

Now, there are some rumors we caution you about and suggest you take with a good dose of salt. This is one of those. There have already been many reports that both the S24 and S24+ would get the Exynos 2400 in some markets, and this goes against that almost last minute (the official unveiling will take place in 12 days).

Sure, a lot of people will be happy if this works (despite the fact that the Exynos 2400 doesn’t seem like a bad competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3), but we won’t burst bubbles just yet. If this is true, then expect the most reliable leaksters to confirm it within the next few days. We’ll let you know what happens.
