Samsung started shipping Galaxy S24 flagships just last week, but early adopters ran into a problem with the new phones’ screen mode. According to several reports, the screen is not as colorful as expected in Vivid mode and the company has acknowledged the issue.
Now tipster Ice Universe reveals that Samsung is working on a solution that will increase the vividness and even allow granular control over it. It’s a three-step option and should come with the next software update.
The first step is default saturation, where the Galaxy S24’s panel is more vivid than the Natural option but a far cry from what Samsung offered on previous phones.
Sliding the toggle to the center, or second step, will bring the S24’s display closer to the S23’s vibrant colors, while the third option will presumably go even further.
The switch appears to be in the Advanced Settings of Vivid Display mode, which is part of the Display Settings. It will be found under the white balance options, where a user can manually change the display’s RGB levels.

Vivid mode issues clearly aren’t turning away too many customers as Samsung has increased its shipping target for the Galaxy S24 series. The goal has increased from 12 million to 13 million units for the first quarter of 2024. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the most desired of the three, with Samsung reporting a 65% share of pre-orders for the big Snapdragon 8 Gen phone 3, titanium frame and new telephoto lens.
