A new Realme is on the way with the model number RMX3700. The smartphone, which is rumored to arrive as the Realme GT Neo 5 SE, popped up on Geekbench and revealed a CPU we’ve never seen before.

The phone’s chipset will be a Qualcomm SM8450 (codenamed taro), which is the Snapdragon 8/8+ Gen 1, but the CPU is underclocked, suggesting another version of the platform. The most plausible answer is an underclocked chip of the same name with the first Cortex-X2 processor core running at 2.92GHz, while the trio of Cortex-A710 cores are clocked at 2.5GHz.

This won’t be the first time Qualcomm ships a chipset that doesn’t have a maximum clock. The Oppo Reno9 Pro+, for example, runs on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with a slightly slower main core, although the rest are in line with the default specifications.

The upcoming phone is expected to borrow the 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate from its sibling, the GT Neo 5 (sold overseas as the Realme GT3). Other specs we can expect are ColorOS 13, based on Android 13 and 8GB of RAM. More should follow soon once Realme acknowledges the existence of this SE version.
