Say hello to Oppo’s latest ColorOS. The global beta version of ColorOS 14 has already started rolling out in some regions, the Oppo Find N2 Flip will be the first to receive the stable version in mid-November. Here’s what’s new in version 14.
We’ll start with the updated Trinity Engine. ROM Revitalization compresses app and file data and can save up to 20GB of storage space on a typical phone. RAM Revitalization replaces Android’s RAM mechanism with one that’s more adept at keeping background apps in RAM. The third and final component, CPU vitality, balances chipset performance and power consumption.

ColorOS now has a smart charging system that uses an AI algorithm to set the charging current based on if and how you’re using your phone. This is intended to reduce battery wear.
Picture Keeper is added to the list of privacy features. This adds additional permission to access selected photos and videos on your device. By the way, Smart Image Matting can now crop multiple people and animals from a photo or a still frame from an image.

The new Smart Touch helps you select text, images and videos from native and third-party apps and collect them in the File Dock. The File Dock is like a clipboard that lets you store content for later use. This is synced between ColorOS devices, so things you saved with Smart Touch on, say, an Oppo Pad are also available on your phone.

Oppo has also updated the look and feel of the UI with refined and standardized elements. The so-called Aqua Dynamic design is a collection of common bubbles, pods, and panels that appear from the status bar to display features with minimal distraction.
