It’s still early, but display specs for next year’s iPhone lineup have emerged from supply chain sources. According to the leak, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will get a size increase: 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches, both 120Hz LTPO panels. The size of the 16 Pro Max display seems a little hard to believe , so take it with a grain of salt.
It’s a different story with the standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus: expect the same 6.12-inch and 6.69-inch sizes and the same 60Hz refresh rate. This is apparently confirmed by industry insider Ross Young which states that Pro Motion will arrive on vanilla models only in 2025.
Going back to the 2024 iPhone 16 models, it’s no surprise that there is Dynamic Island on all models.
Legacy iPhone buyers might not mind spending another year with a modest 60Hz display, but the expensive displays on Apple’s base iPhones are starting to look uncompetitive against Android’s flagship and mid-range lineup.
