Nothing wanted to be left out of the media spotlight this week, with all the announcements taking place at MWC Barcelona, so he started his teaser campaign for the upcoming Phone (2) in earnest.

We expect to hear tidbits of information about the new device in the coming weeks or months, as it’s a strategy Nothing CEO Carl Pei loves and has employed many times before, including at OnePlus before founding Nothing. It all starts with the chipset. The Nothing Phone (2) will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 series.

Unfortunately the company didn’t go into more detail than that. We’re assuming of course that it will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powering the Nothing Phone (2), as many flagship Android devices due out this year do.

The Nothing Phone (2) will be launched in the USA according to Carl Pei himself and should arrive in the third quarter of the year, therefore between July and September. If this launch time frame runs out, there’s a chance it could use Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, if that’s ever going to happen.

The news is not very surprising as we have already heard that unlike the mid-range Phone (1), the Phone (2) would be higher-end. However, how high-end it remains to be seen. Will it be a flagship competing with the world’s Galaxy S23 Ultras, or more of a “flagship killer” competing with the world’s OnePlus 11s?

Let’s wait and see. Previous rumors talked about the upcoming device coming with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 120Hz OLED display and a 5,000mAh battery. We’ll be curious to see if the transparent back design remains, along with the Glyph LEDs.

Let's talk about "It’s official: Nothing Phone (2) will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series chipset" with our community!
