The cheaper Motorola Razr 40 arrives just weeks after its pricier Razr 40 Ultra sibling. The vanilla model is currently only available in China via Lenovo’s online store with a starting price of CNY 4,000 for the 8/128GB model.
We looked at Motorola sites for other countries and they all said the local equivalent of “coming soon”. We spotted it on a Czech dealer, who estimates the arrival date as July 21, which is a month from now. You can pre-order a unit for CZK 21,600, which converts to €910. That’s more than the €800 the Razr 40 was supposed to cost.
Either way, Motorola India tweeted earlier this month that the Razr 40 series is “coming soon.” However, neither model is available yet. In the US, the Razr 40 Ultra, known locally as Razr+, is up for pre-order and will begin shipping June 29 (Thursday of next week). The Razr+ is also up for pre-order in Canada, but is already available in Mexico and Brazil.
As for the vanilla Razr 40, it’s already listed in Brazil (but no pricing or launch date yet). However, this is the only place we’ve seen it in the Americas.
