The new stacked CMOS sensor with 2-layer transistor pixel technology features separate layers for the transistor and photodiode layers allowing for physically larger diodes and greater light capture. BBK’s other brands, Oppo and vivo, also announced partnerships with Sony’s Lytia earlier this year, meaning the upcoming Find X6 and vivo X100 phones will likely feature the same dual-layer stacked sensors for their cameras main.

The OnePlus 12 is expected to debut with a 50MP Sony IMX966 main sensor along with a 64MP telephoto module (OmniVision OV64B) with 3x optical zoom and a 48MP ultrawide lens. We also got confirmation that the OP 12 will carry an LTPO OLED display developed by BOE.

The OnePlus 12 will reportedly arrive in China next month, followed by a global release in early 2024.
