Intel today announced its 13th generation of desktop processors. Codenamed “Raptor Lake”, the range currently includes three new CPU models, with two variants each. Intel claims that the 13th generation offers up to 15% better single-threaded performance and up to 41% better multi-threading performance than the 12th generation.

At the top of the range is the new Core i9-13900K and its variant without iGPU, the 13900KF. Continuing on the 12th generation hybrid architecture design, the 13900K has 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores for a total of 32 threads (there is no Hyper-Threading on the E-cores). It has 32 MB of L2 cache and 36 MB of Intel Smart Cache (L3). P-cores can boost up to 5.8 GHz and E-cores up to 4.3 GHz. The CPU has a base power of 125W and a maximum Turbo power of 253W.

None of the following parts have an official retail price yet, but rather RCP (Customer Recommended Price), which is the retail price for every 1000 units purchased. The 13900K RCP is $ 589 and the 13900KF is $ 564. The actual street price will be a little higher.

Next up is the 13700K, which has 8 P-cores and 8 E-cores, with a total thread count of 24. It has 24 MB of L2 cache and 30 MB of L3 cache. It can boost up to 5.4GHz on the P cores and 4.2GHz on the E-cores. It has a base power of 125W and a maximum Turbo power of 253W (yes, like the i9). The 13700K has an RCP of $ 409 and the 13700KF is $ 384.

Finally, there is the 13600K, which has 6 P-cores and 8 E-cores for a total thread count of 20. It has 20 MB of L2 cache and 24 MB of L3 cache. P-cores boost up to 5.1 GHz and E-cores up to 3.9 GHz. It has a base power of 125 W and a maximum Turbo power of 181 W. The 13600K’s CPR is $ 319 and the 13600KF is $ 294.

All six models feature 20 PCIe CPU lanes (up to 16 PCIe 5.0 + 4 PCIe 4.0) and support for DDR5 5600 and DDR4 3200 memory, with faster memory supported via XMP. All non-F SKUs feature Intel UHD Graphics 770.

The 13th generation processors will work on the new Z790 chipset motherboards announced today and on the previous 600 series motherboards. The new processors and motherboards will be available starting October 20.
