HMD Global, the company responsible for manufacturing Nokia phones, has announced that it has secured the top spot in the feature phone market for the third quarter of 2023, according to the latest analysis from IDC. The detailed breakdown was not shared by either the manufacturer or the analyst firm, but HMD holds a market share of 30.7% by value and 22.4% by volume, marking an increase from the previous three-month period.

HMD said four key factors contributed to Nokia’s success. The first involves feature phones with UPI (Unified Payments Interface) integration, which has improved functionality and enabled secure digital transactions.

The company has also opted for an update of its hero models with new designs and bright colors. The list includes Nokia 105 2022, Nokia 110, Nokia 110 4G, Nokia XpressAudio and Nokia 2660 Flip.

A spokesperson for HMD Global said the company plans to build on these results and maintain its leading position in the feature phone market.
