Huawei has just announced a number of new products and the budget smartphone Enjoy 60X and its iconic Band 8 will be in our focus. Let’s start with the Enjoy 60X, which sports a massive 7,000mAh battery and cool design.
The device is built around a large 6.95-inch IPS LCD panel with 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 680 SoC does the math, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
The Enjoy 60X uses a 50MP main camera aided by a 2MP depth sensor. The notch on the front houses a single 8MP selfie camera.
Huawei Enjoy 60X
As we’ve already mentioned, the Enjoy 60X is built to last beyond a full day of use. Its 7,000mAh battery should be able to keep you off the plug for at least two days, even with moderate to heavy use. Charging may take a little longer, however, as the input only reaches 22.5W.
Interestingly, the 512GB storage variant can reverse charge at 22.5W via wire which is quite impressive. The device runs on HarmonyOS 3.0 out of the box.
There are five color options, and whichever you get, it will be made from plastic or faux leather. The orange and one of the black paint jobs offer a leather finish, while the white, green, and other black are plain plastic.
At the moment we have no information on prices and availability. We’re also not sure the Enjoy 60X will make it outside of China.
Huawei Band 8
Moving on to the Huawei Band 8, it offers a modest upgrade over its predecessor while retaining most of the hardware. The new band weighs 14 grams without the band (compared to 16 grams), yet still houses a 1.47-inch OLED screen with 194 x 369 px resolution.
The new Band 8 adopts a more blocky look with flat sides, and the band should also be easier to handle.
Huawei is focusing on the additional features that the band offers, such as Huawei’s improved TruSleep 3.0 tracker, TruSeen 5.0 (for monitoring heart rate and other body functions), and TruSport that can recognize 100 different activities.
The software also lets you customize the watch face, as there are more than a thousand presets available. Some of them also support AoD.
The band goes for CNY 269 for Green, Black and Pink options without NFC or CNY 309 with NFC. There’s also a black/orange version with a fabric strap that costs CNY 279 without NFC and CNY 319 with NFC. Pre-sales start today and actual shipments begin after April 26th. The special Orange version arrives on May 31st.
