Honor 90 and Honor 90 Pro made their debut in China today. The phones have improved slightly over their predecessors, with the most impressive feature being the 200MP main camera with an ISOCELL HP3 sensor.

The two phones have a 5,000mAh battery, which is the highest capacity ever for the number series. The launch took place in China, but the company confirmed in a press release that the devices will arrive internationally with GMS “soon”.

Honor 90 Pro

The Pro variant has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 6.78-inch 10-bit AMOLED display with a resolution of 2700 x 1224 pixels. The panel features a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and over 1,000 nits of brightness.

There are two selfie cameras behind a centered punch hole: 50MP main sensor and 2MP depth sensor with 4K video recording, the same as the Honor 80 Pro.

There’s a significant upgrade on the back, with a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and f/1.9 aperture. Pixels are 0.56μm in size and go down to 2.24μm with 16-to-1 pixel binning.The ultra-wide-angle camera has a 12MP resolution and a 112-degree field of view, and there’s also a 32MP portrait camera with 2.5x optical zoom and OIS.

The 5,000mAh battery supports 90W charging, and Honor claims it takes 15 minutes to fill up to 56%.

The phone comes with dual stereo speakers and GPU Turbo X for gaming enthusiasts. Other specs include MagicUI 7.1 on top of Android 13, NFC, and 3840Hz UHF PWM dimming to be easier on the user’s eyes.

The Honor 90 Pro is available for pre-order in four colors: silver, black, green and ice blue. The price for the 12/256GB version is CNY 3,299 ($465/€435), the 16/256GB costs CNY 3,599 ($510/€475), while the 16/512GB is CNY 3,899 ( $550/€515). The first sale is scheduled for June 7th.

Honor 90

The vanilla Honor 90 comes with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, but Honor has boosted the more powerful 2.4GHz Cortex-A710 core to 2.5GHz.

The phone is built around a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 2664 x 1200 pixels, 1 billion colors and 120Hz refresh rate. According to the official website, the maximum brightness is 1,600 nits.

The selfie camera is the same 50MP f/2.4 camera as the Pro. The 200MP main and 12MP ultra-wide-angle cameras on the rear are also shared, but the third camera is a basic 2MP depth sensor instead of a telephoto. There’s no OIS here, but the phone will have EIS.

The battery here comes with 66W charging, and is also compatible with 40W Power Delivery if you don’t have the bundled proprietary charger handy. Neither the Honor 90 nor the Honor 90 Pro support wireless charging.

The Honor 90 is also available in four colors: Green, Black and Ice Feather Blue are the same as the Pro. The fourth, Silver, has a Star Diamond pattern and is subjectively the coolest of all. Pricing for the 12/256GB version is CNY 2,499 ($355/€330), the 16/256GB variant is CNY 2,799 ($395/€370), while the 16/512GB is priced at CNY 2,999 ($425/€395). The sale will begin on June 7, with the phone available at the Hi Honor store in China.
