Honor held a big two-day launch event in China, where yesterday we saw the debut of the MagicOS 7.0 interface while big hardware announcements were left for today, including three new phones.

The Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 offer 160MP main cameras, Qualcomm chips and curved OLED displays. The Honor 80 SE is the cheapest entry among the three and gets a Dimension 900 and 64MP main camera.

The Honor 80 Pro is the star of the show and gets a 6.78-inch curved OLED with a resolution of 2700x1224px and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The 10-bit panel features a centered pill-shaped cutout below the earpiece speaker, housing a 50MP selfie camera alongside a secondary 2MP depth module.

The Honor 80 features a slightly smaller 6.67-inch curved OLED display with 2400×1080px resolution and the same 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a single 32MP selfie cam housed in the punch hole here.

The Honor 80 Pro packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset although it is a slightly underclocked version with the main Cortex-X2 core running at 3.0Ghz (instead of 3.2GHz) while the three Cortex-A710 Gold cores are limited to 2.5GHz vs 2.75GHz on other phones with SD 8+ chips.

The Honor 80 carries the newly announced Snapdragon 782G chipset, which comes to succeed the SD 778G+ SoC.

Moving on to the cameras: Both the Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 share the same 160MP main camera. It is a 1/1.56-inch sensor imaging sensor with f/1.8 aperture that performs 16-in-1 binning with 2.24μm pixels. Honor is also bringing its revamped image engine packed with improved scene optimizations, skin texture detection, and updated AI RAW algorithms. AI Vlog mode is here to give creators more advanced controls for their videos.

The Honor 80 Pro also gets a 50MP ultrawide module, while the third module on the back is a 2MP depth helper. The Honor 80 has a less capable 8MP ultrawide and the same 2MP depth module on the back.

Both phones run Android 12-based MagicOS 7 and pack 4,800mAh batteries with 66W wired fast charging. The Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 are available in black, green, blue and pink colors.

The Honor 80 Pro starts at CNY 3,499 ($490) for the 8/256GB version and goes up to CNY 4,099 ($573) for the 12/512GB version.

The Honor 80 starts at CNY 2,699 ($377) for the 8/256GB version, while the 12/512GB version costs CNY 3,299 ($460).

The Honor 80 SE starts at CNY 2,399 ($335) and offers a 6.67-inch curved OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The 10-bit panel also supports 1920Hz PWM dimming and carries a 32MP selfie camera housed in a hole.

There’s a 64MP main camera alongside a 5MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP macro cam on the back. The Honor 80SE comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 chipset and packs a 4,600mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging.

Honor 80 SE is available in black, crystal, blue and pink colors. Pre-orders in China begin today, with open sales slated for December 9.
