Warner Bros. Discovery has now completed the transition of HBO Max and Discovery+ into a unified streaming service called Max. The rebranded service is now live in the US and comes with additional content for the more expensive Max Ultimate price tier ($19 99 per month) with a total of 1,000 new movies and TV shows in 4K quality.

The press release contains the full list of 4K content and mentions that most Max users will see their apps updated automatically while others will be prompted to download the updated app on their devices. HBO Max customers will have their profiles, avatars and payment information, and viewing history automatically migrated to Max.

All Warner Bros. movies released this year and in the future will be available to stream in 4K on Max when uploaded. Max is also bringing Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and HDR 10, and some TV shows and movies will be available in an enhanced 60fps mode. Max is expected to launch in Latin America by the end of the fall, with Europe, Asia and other regions receiving the updated service in 2024.
