Garmin has announced its latest vivoactive 5 featuring a lightweight design with an anodized aluminum frame and the same high-end activity tracking that Garmin is known for. Vivoactive 5 features a 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 390 x 390px resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The watch weighs just 23 grams and is waterproof up to 5 ATM.
The new member vivoactive can monitor heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep. Sleep tracking includes personalized sleep information and nap tracking. The watch supports over 30 sports tracking apps with built-in GPS. Vivoactive 5 also tracks exercise progress and suggests recovery times after workouts and guided meditation sessions

Garmin added a body battery that tracks energy levels based on summary reports that take into account stress, exercise load, and recovery data. There’s an NFC receiver with support for Garmin Pay, and you can pair it with iOS and Android devices.
You get 4GB of built-in storage that can be used to store music from Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. The watch supports notification management and you can also type messages on the screen if you are paired with an Android device. You can also download additional watch faces and apps from the Garmin Connect IQ Store. Battery life in smartwatch mode is rated at up to 11 days.
Garmin vivoactive 5 is available in black, white, orchid and dark blue. The price is set at $300/€300/£260 and is available from Garmin and partner retailers.
