Asus announced an Android 13 beta program for Zenfone 9 in August, and the phone is almost ready to receive the stable version – the company just announced its official Android 13 launch plan for this and many more phones. It’s relatively short, especially on the Zenfone side, but Asus only promises two major updates, and some have already run out of theirs.

Here is the official timeline, for the Zenfone on the left and for the ROG Phones on the right:

Asus Android 13 implementation plan: Zenfone series • ROG series

The Asus Zenfone 9 will receive the update in December, the Asus Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip will receive it in January. Series 8 launched last year with Android 11 and was updated to Android 12 in December, this is expected to be their second and last major OS release. Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro launched in mid-2020 with Android 10 and have upgraded to version 12 (and are not on the list for 13).

Moving on to the Republic of Gamers, the first in line are the ROG Phone 6D / 6D Ultimate with Dimensity 9000+ technology and the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro based on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1: they can expect Android 13 in the first three months of 2023 ROG Phone 5 / 5s series will receive it in the second quarter.

The ROG Phones 5/5 launched with Android 11 and have been updated to 12, so this should be the end of the road for them. ROG Phone 3 models launched with Android 10, have been updated at 11 and 12 and will not continue at 13.

Note that the launch will be gradual, so Zenfone 9 users shouldn’t expect the update to arrive on December 1st. Also, there may be unexpected delays.
