The Apple iPhone SE 4, which is rumored to launch in 2024, is said to have a similar design to the iPhone 14. We now know that the iPhone SE 4 will also use the iPhone 14’s battery.

This information comes from MacRumors, who claim that prototypes of the iPhone SE 4 – with the identification code D59 – have been seen equipped with lithium-ion batteries with the model code A2863. This is the same battery used for the iPhone 14, with a capacity of 3,279 mAh.

The source says that the iPhone SE 4’s internal design documentation also confirms this. If Apple were to proceed with this battery for the iPhone SE 4, there would be a 1,261 mAh increase over the iPhone SE 3 cell.

However, it’s worth noting that this information is for pre-production units and that plans could always change, therefore giving us something different than what the rumors had us believing.

Previous rumors claimed that the iPhone SE 4 would have an OLED display provided by BOE, making it the first SE model to switch from LCD. It is also said to feature an action button and a USB-C port.
